Vanya and Nikita are twins. Their fate is surprisingly difficult. In their short lives, they have experienced a lot of grief and suffering, but now they have a chance to recover! The boys were born prematurely and immediately went to the intensive care unit, where doctors tried their best to save them, although they prepared their parents for the worst. They were discharged from the hospital with a number of diagnoses, one of which was cerebral palsy.
- Vanya and Nikita were born prematurely, at 33 weeks of pregnancy, - says Lyudmila, the boys’ mother. - The children spent the first two months in intensive care. My husband and I fought together for their health and life. The man constantly traveled to different cities, with only one goal - to get the necessary medicines for children. And in the third month of the boys’ lives, when we were discharged home, my husband died of pneumonia at the age of 29. Earlier, my mother and grandmother of children died in an accident. Yes, I was left alone with all the problems, and I have to fight alone for the health and future life of Vanya and Nikita.
Ludmila had an incredibly difficult time with one of her two newborns. Vanya, often crying a lot, sons and stopped breathing, and Nikita due to a large number of drugs was constant vomiting. Most of the time, the children spent their time in the hospital. And when the boys were 10 months old, Lyudmila first heard the doctors’ verdict - cerebral palsy, developmental delay.
- The earth has gone from under my feet, - Lyudmila remembers. - I don’t know how I survived, but the boys and I were able to, and we are trying our best to move on!
Now Vanya and Nikita are 7 years old. The boys have very good results in treatment. With each rehabilitation, muscle tone decreases, which gives children the opportunity to increase range of motion and avoid contractures and dislocations of the hip joints. Classes on fine and gross motor skills, develop children mentally and emotionally.
- Every rehabilitation for my children is a step forward, they already know at such a young age that you need to try and honestly follow all the prescriptions and recommendations of doctors. And all this is bearing fruit: if until recently the boys could hardly keep their heads on their own, now they are trying to crawl on their own and stand on their feet with support. They already know numbers up to five and distinguish between large and small objects, teach letters. It is still difficult for them to say the words, but the children actively show everything they are asked. And to get results, the boys need regular classes in rehabilitation centers, massages, swimming pool and classes with a speech therapist.
The boys’ mother has repeatedly turned to various charities for help and support. Now Vanya and Nikita need your help. The Koshelev brothers underwent the first course of treatment paid for by our readers and partners at the KidsRehab Center . According to Lyudmila, Nikita’s mother and Vanya, the rehabilitation was very effective and gave good results to the boys. Nikita began to hold his back well, which is very important for learning to walk. Vanya began to rise to his knees with support. The boys’ tone decreased, and it became easier for both of them to take items. Now the boy and his mother are at home and feel good.

The Koshelev brothers underwent the second course of treatment paid for by our readers and partners at the KidsRehab Center. According to Lyudmila, the boys’ mother, Nikita was very pleased with his success and made his first steps. Until recently, it was difficult for him to keep his back, and now he is taking his first steps !!! Vanya, began to kneel holding on to the support. The boys did well with a neuropsychologist - they repeated the sounds, showed colors. Vanya and Nikita try very hard, they succeed, and most importantly, there is an important and long-awaited result.
