Meet: this is Alyosha. He lives in Dnipro and studies in the 10th grade of the first city lyceum. Alyosha loves Friday, and not because tomorrow is the weekend, on the contrary: it is the only day when he rushes to school and does not study online. You can chat and go for a walk, instead of sitting at the monitor for seven hours every day, doing your homework and feeling how your back hurts and your legs go numb.
Alyosha says this about his main virtue: I like to help: my mother, friends, acquaintances and strangers. And the mother adds that she has a very kind and sensitive son. Elena is raising him alone, in their small friendly family there is no father, no grandparents, no grandparents. It's sad because they have only themselves to rely on.
This year, Alyosha grew in front of our eyes, stretched by 20 centimeters (height 1m 80 cm) and he and his mother joked that at the age of 15 he had already overtaken her. But this acceleration turned out to be dangerous: already at the beginning of summer, Olena understood. that something was wrong with the child's back: Alyosha was hunched over, unable to raise his shoulder blades. Soon, the mother began to think that her son was growing a hump. And the massage therapist, to whom they turned for help, only increased their anxiety.
When they went to the specialist in August, he diagnosed the child with the second stage of kyphosis, but the disease progressed so quickly that after a month and a half, the boy's spine was 87 degrees, and this is the fourth stage of kyphosis. Both mother and son were frightened, and the doctors explained the pathology as follows: the spine is growing rapidly, but the muscles cannot keep up with it, as a result, they pull and twist it. The chest is compressed, the internal organs are deformed.
If in the summer Alyosha was still offered to adjust his back with a corset, then already in October they explained: only an operation would save him. It is necessary to insert implants into the spine, which will eliminate the problem once and for life. The decision to operate sounded like a sentence, because the family simply has nowhere to get money for such expensive treatment.
Elena is a single mother. She has no one to expect help from, except for caring people.
