Andriy was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - patent ductus arteriosus. Up until the age of one, the hole in the child's heart could have closed on its own. However, unfortunately, a miracle did not happen, the duct did not close.
My son is now 6 years old. During this time, the hole has increased, so the load is not only on the heart, but also on the lungs. Doctors recommend performing an operation to endovascularly close the hole. It needs to be done as soon as possible, as there are many risks in the future: serious changes in the functioning of the heart and lungs, and there is a possibility of developing infective endocarditis - the entry of bacteria and viruses into the heart, which can lead to valve destruction, heart failure and systemic complications.
The operation itself will be performed free of charge, but we need to purchase the necessary implant - an occluder. The cost of the implant is too high for us, and we really need your help! Doctors are sure: after the operation, the son will be completely healthy and in two months he will be able to return to his usual, active and happy childhood.
Andriy is an active and cheerful boy. He does gymnastics, loves to ride a scooter, run. We dream that he can run, play and laugh without restrictions, go to competitions and win.
