Anya was born at 41 weeks of pregnancy, with multiple defects in the development of the skeletal system, bilateral clubfoot and bilateral hip dislocation. Immediately after birth, the daughter was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit. A month later, Anya was discharged from intensive care. During this time, the child had cardiac arrest twice. And at nine months, the daughters underwent the first operation - shunting.
Prolonged rehabilitation after a complex operation, and again new treatment and operations (achilloplasty of the feet and correction of deformities of the lower extremities). And when Anichka was 3 years old, after an examination at the Kharkiv Institute of Orthopedics, she was prescribed orthoses and a corset to stop the progression of the disease. But this treatment did not give the desired result. But we did not give up and continued treatment.
The daughter is currently registered with a neurosurgeon and orthopedist. Thanks to numerous surgeries, training and treatment, Anya can move with the help of a walker, but she cannot walk by herself. And in the last few years, the situation with the spine has begun to deteriorate. Due to the progression of scoliosis, which has already reached the 4th degree, the spine is curved, which exacerbates back pain. At the moment, the child is recommended to undergo surgery to correct scoliotic deformity. For this operation, Ani needs a metal structure - an implant. Which costs more than 120 thousand hryvnias.
This is an unaffordable amount for our family. From the age of 3, I raise my daughter on my own, although Ani’s father helps us and takes an active part in the child’s life. I also have a disability, with a diagnosis of progressive muscular dystrophy. Therefore, I ask all caring and kind people to help Ani get to her feet and fulfill her wish - to live and walk.
