Fourteen-year-old Dmytro has bilateral neurosensory deafness of the 4th degree. This means that without hearing aids the boy cannot distinguish words, and the world around him turns into a chaotic set of sounds and constant noise, as from a passing train. Dimi will be helped by high-frequency digital hearing aids. If they are not installed now, the boy will forget to speak. Then you can forget about school and communication with others.
Dima was born a healthy child, there were no complications or health problems. But at the age of five, the boy caught a bad cold, suffered from pneumonia, after which complications began in the form of hearing loss.
- When we were discharged from the hospital, it seemed to me that my son did not respond to sounds at all, - says Elena, Dima’s mother. - But the doctors assured that everything was fine, that the child’s ears were just plugged. Soon everything will be fine. But it happened differently. At the age of 6, doctors diagnosed Dima with bilateral chronic cochleoneuritis, grade 3 deafness in both ears.
After the diagnosis, Dima’s parents bought hearing aids and began to take their son to classes with a speech therapist and speech pathologist. And over time, the boy developed a phrasal language, he went to school.
- Recently, I noticed that Dima began to listen to what I said, to my words. Trying to disassemble, understand them. There was no such thing before, - Olena notes. Dima parses the words when they speak very loudly, almost shouting. At the same time he should approach the interlocutor almost closely. So he can feel something.
At the last consultation with a deaf and dumb man, it turned out that the boy’s hearing became worse - bilateral deafness of the second or third degree grew into the fourth degree, and old hearing aids are already weak for such a degree of hearing loss and failed. Doctors advise to install new, more powerful hearing aids as soon as possible.
However, with a deafness of 4 degrees, hearing aids are not issued free of charge, and Dima’s mother is unable to buy them. She is raising two sons, with her husband, Dima’s father, who has not lived in divorce for a long time.
Without hearing aids, the boy will one day completely lose the ability to perceive sounds, will be in complete silence.
"Help no one," Olena admits. - What will happen to Dima now? How will he go to school now? How will his condition and mood change? I’m even afraid to imagine ... We have one hope for the participation of good people.

The devices compensate for the lack of hearing, thanks to them Dima will be able to communicate normally with others and distinguish sounds well.
