Danylo is our second child. From the first years of his life, our son has already endured many trials. First, he underwent eye surgery to remove chalazions (a chronic benign formation that occurs inside the eyelid due to blockage of the meibomian gland). Later, our son underwent surgery to remove adenoids. After that, the child became seriously ill with an autoimmune disease - vasculitis, which required long-term treatment, effort and significant financial expenses.
Over the past 5 years, Danylo has spent most of his time in hospitals. But, despite this, he is growing up to be a very brave and courageous boy who loves: active games, drawing, singing and playing with his peers.
Today, we are again forced to fight for our boy's health. Recently, during a routine examination, Danylo was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - an open arterial duct, which requires urgent surgical closure. The hole is constantly increasing, there is no hope that it will close on its own. Doctors emphasize that the child's further full life and health depend on the timeliness of the operation. Cardiologists recommend performing an endovascular operation to close the heart defect. The operation itself is free, but we need to purchase the implant - the occluder ourselves. Cardiovascular surgeon of the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv Besh Dmytro: "To avoid the progression of complications, the child needs surgery to eliminate the patent ductus arteriosus endovascularly using an occluder. After such surgery, the boy will recover quickly, return to an active life, and be healthy."
