Diana was born on October 30, 2009. On the second day of life, the daughter was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect and pulmonary hypertension. We were told to go to Lviv, do an ultrasound and undergo a full examination. Specialists confirmed the daughter’s diagnosis. The child was also diagnosed with Down syndrome.
In May 2010, in the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv, the child underwent the first operation, which lasted more than 9 hours. It seemed to me that it lasted forever. But, thank God, we survived it. Two weeks later, Diana was discharged home, and was scheduled to come twice a year for an examination.
As if everything was fine, the daughter grew and developed like all children. But later, doctors discovered another heart defect - an open ductus arteriosus, which must also be closed. Another operation for Diana, and again funds are needed for its implementation. Out of desperation, I turned to your fund.
My girl, my little flower, my dearest sunshine, goes to school, attends some clubs, but her health is not as good as other children’s. Diana Ilkiv was successfully operated on at the First Territorial Medical Association of the city of Lviv. The open arterial duct was closed endovascularly, with the help of a special device - a spiral occluder. Already an hour and a half after the operation, Diana was with her mother in the ward. The work of the heart and blood circulation has been restored. The girl is feeling well and has already been discharged home.
