Nastya Dubyuk needs digital hearing aids.
Doctors diagnosed seven-year-old Nastya Dubyuk with bilateral neurosensory deafness of the 4th degree. Without hearing aids, the girl cannot distinguish words at all, and the sounds of the world around her reach her only in an incomprehensible quiet hum. High-frequency digital hearing aids will help you. But if they are not installed now, Nastya will forget to speak, then study in a regular school, and further normal communication with the outside world will be impossible. Ufond journalist Nina Filatova tells Nastya’s story to popular TV presenter and producer Dmitry Tankovich and his wife Olga Rybka.
- Dima, you spend most of your life in the world of sounds, and bright sounds that give rise to strong emotions. Tell me, can you imagine the eternal silence and sound chaos in which Nastenka lives?- It is very difficult to imagine a world without sounds. On the show "Ukraine has talent" I worked with children with hearing problems. We had a girl who heard almost nothing, but she danced, and it was very difficult for me to understand how she managed to do it if there was only silence in my head.
I think such people need help to build communication. But if it’s not about an adult, but about a child, it’s even harder to do. For some reason we are not ready to help, share, understand. Most people attribute the lack of empathy to the principle "We are not like that - life is like that", but I think we all still need to learn a lot, including active kindness.
- Olya, how do you think the child feels loneliness and rejection in a world where people talk and hear?- I think, no matter how caring the family is, it is still important for Nastenka to communicate with other children. Probably, she has her own, inner picture, her own world, in which she is like everyone else. But outside this world she is very lonely. In an interview, Nastya describes how Nastya returns to her from children she can’t talk to, children play, and she silently leaves them, even without tears. This is a trauma for a child that is very difficult to deal with! But I believe: soon everything will be fine, and Nastenka will hear and communicate with everyone on an equal footing.
- Nastya lives in a tiny town in Volyn. And the smaller the town - the harder it is to make money in it. For Nastya’s parents, this is a desperate, hopeless situation. In fact, the state dooms its young citizen to disability and unemployment in the future. Dima, what do you think the authorities can and should do?
- I think that you should not rely on the state now. In the near future, unfortunately, the treatment of sick children in our country will not be a priority ... I want to believe that the problem will help solve our wealthy fellow citizens who will donate money to charity, create their own charitable foundations. If we turn to the world experience, this is exactly what is happening in the West: it is a common practice among rich people there.
- And if you introduce special taxes or insurance medicine?
- In theory, it sounds good, but you and I know that every inhabitant of Ukraine has a question: where do his taxes go? I really want to hope that the situation will change for the better. But if we compare public and private government, when a private investor gives his money, he controls every penny, he wants to know: where his money goes, and the efficiency of their use is much higher. In order for things to happen in the state, it is necessary to overcome abuses of power - and this is not a matter of one year, but maybe ten years, and children can not wait that long, they need help now.
- Nastya’s illness is a long struggle, anxiety and stress. Olya, please tell me, have you ever experienced such difficulties? Can you share your recipe - how to overcome the problem?
- Our family had a similar situation: my sister had health problems. And even then I realized: the main thing - a positive attitude, we see the goal - we do not see obstacles! Of course, when your little child is sick, it is the worst thing that can happen, and I understand the condition of parents who have to wait and hope for human kindness. But everything will be fine: and each new day can be a happy turning point, you just need to hope and wait for it.
- In the photo, Nastenka looks like an ordinary girl, cute, pretty. And with hearing aids, she probably has a happy future of a full-fledged healthy person. But this future now depends directly on us and you. Dima, what would you advise a person who read Nastya’s story? - If you read the story, and you are hooked, the main thing - do not hesitate to help! And then help will become a good and good habit.
- In fact, Nastenka’s health is entirely in the hands of benefactors. And, alas, we have thousands of such children’s stories! How, in your opinion, Olya, is it possible to make charity a "fashionable" habit?"Probably possible!" It is important to talk more about people who need help. Here I am judging myself: you are driving a car, the radio is working, and you hear information about the child and want to help him, you write down information, you try to remember the account numbers to which you need to send money. I think how good it would be to simplify everything. Ideally: go to the site, read the information and in two clicks on the computer or phone screen immediately helped - because we live in the age of the Internet! The less complexity, the better. And one more thing: there are a lot of charity sites now, but they need to be looked for, so advertising these sites would be unnecessary so that information about people who need help catches your eye as often as possible.
- The day will come when Nastenka will hear thanks to hearing aids. Imagine that this day has come and Nastya already hears you. What would you tell her?
Olya Rybka: I would like Nastya to have many friends, so that she does not need anything in life. And that her parents were always there, protecting and helping. This is very important, because, feeling their support and support, she will not be afraid of anything in life.
Dmitry Tankovich: I think there is not much to say! You just have to say hello, and then Nastya will have such a great desire to hear everything that she has not heard for so long that every word will be a revelation to her.
