Ivanna is an ancient Hebrew name, meaning God-given. She will be six years old next year. She dreams of going to school, but so far she can only walk a little - with the help of mom and dad. Ivanka has cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia syndrome (severe cerebral palsy with movement disorders in the extremities - Ufond). But this is not a sentence, the girl has every chance not only to learn to walk, but also to live a normal life.
In five years, Ivanka learned to crawl and sit, hold her head more confidently, eat and dress on her own. She has a perfectly preserved intellect. She understands everything, plays educational games with her mother, tries to draw, believes that she enjoys communicating with others as much as she can. And he is often angry and upset that the foot rises only on the toe and only sometimes correctly - on the whole foot.
The girl was born prematurely, immediately went to the intensive care unit, only two months later the baby was discharged home. And everything in the life of the Karapuz family has changed. Yaroslav, Ivanka’s mother, had to extend her maternity leave to stay with her daughter all the time. Dad is constantly at work, doing everything possible so that the daughter can receive the necessary treatment. All the money in the family goes to Ivanka’s treatment and rehabilitation.
- I can’t imagine life without her, she is my driving force in life, - says Yaroslava. - After the birth of my daughter, the integrity of the family began to be felt.
Ivan’s daughter was named by her mother. So he says to everyone: "She is my life, given to me by God!"
An hour and a half a day goes to the mother and daughter for gymnastics and classes. Ivanka turns the pedals of the simulator, works on the stepper (simulator for the development of stop work - Ufond), near the Swedish wall, does exercises with her mother, which are recommended by experts - so develops the vestibular apparatus, exercise.
- Doctors say from birth that everything is in our hands. Let’s practice - there will be a result. I am sure that she will go, go to school on her own and dance. I will do everything in my power. It is said that it is not necessary to compare, for example, two children. It is necessary to compare the results of today and yesterday, - says Yaroslava. - I see that Ivanka has good results. She couldn’t sit down, and now she can. She used to have to be fed, but now she eats and dresses herself. And he periodically tells me: "Mom, look, I did it myself!". - For the sake of these words, I am ready to give everything I have.
Ivanna is a laughter, very kind and incredibly open. It’s very easy to make her laugh. For this, the girl’s family calls Laughter. Ivanka has many friends, even small fans in the kindergarten and rehabilitation centers. She is like a ray of sunshine, attracts with her warmth and smile.
At the International Rehabilitation Clinic of Professor Kozyavkin, Ivanna underwent 16 courses of treatment. The result is very good. Ivanka began to crawl, turn from her back to her stomach, began to hold objects, began to walk near the support and arm, new emotions appeared. Doctors say they are very much looking forward to the girl to continue treatment, and believe in the result of working together.
Intellectually, Ivanna is a completely normal child. Her main problem is that her muscles are still stiff and she can’t walk on her own yet. Our goal is to help the child go so that she is fully socially adapted, say neurologists.
Let’s help Ivanka take the first independent steps. Even at the age of six, these will be the first steps in her future!
