The girl underwent surgical correction with fixation of the spine with a special metal structure. Dmitry Petrenko, head of the department of orthopedics and traumatology at the Medical University, told about the result of the operation and the postoperative condition of the girl: “Julia was admitted to the ward with severe scoliosis, which developed from early childhood. Curvature of the spine significantly impaired lung and heart function. If surgery had not been performed in the near future, spinal cord compression and limb paralysis could have developed.
