Our family was looking forward to having a baby. When Elijah was born, everyone was very happy! The son grew and developed like all children, but over time we found that he did not respond to sounds. Elijah did not pass the hearing test, and was diagnosed with 2nd degree deafness. No treatment was offered - it was believed that Elijah’s hearing was sufficient for speech development. But speech did not develop, the son used gestures and facial expressions. We independently applied to the Kyiv Institute of Otolaryngology named after Professor OI Kolomiychenko, where he was diagnosed with bilateral deafness of 3-4 degrees and recommended to urgently buy his son’s hearing aids, as they are not issued at state expense. Thanks to caring people, we were able to buy the simplest hearing aids. Despite the lost time, in a month and a half Elijah started talking to the devices!
From 2019, in order for Ilya to continue to develop and communicate, we enrolled him in a specialized center, where professionals work with him. He likes it, he learned a lot there. Engaged in a five-day training system. He is at home during the holidays and weekends, but is looking forward to returning to the center. But the validity of the devices has come to an end, without them training at the center is impossible. The deaf-mute has picked up new super-powerful devices.
