The book of consolations

HEARS ?! DO NOT HEAR!

Fede Churilov needs hearing aids with expensive implants.

Two decades ago, congenital deafness was a terrible, truly fatal diagnosis, and parents who learned that their child could not hear looked in horror at the future, which promised the child a lifelong disability and monotonous low-paid work. Fortunately, thanks to the latest invention of medical technology - cochlear implantation - children with congenital deafness can hear, speak and live a full life. This is exactly the life of the little hero of our story, Fedi Churilov, who will be happy, full of colors, events and successes. One and a half year old baby and his parents are looking forward to the operation, which will give Fede a wonderful world of sounds! It’s a small matter… Or rather, for many, because the operation costs more than four hundred thousand hryvnia! And only our help with you can change Fedin’s destiny! About Fed ChurilovUfond correspondent Nina Filatova talks to singer Irina Shinkaruk about the problem of congenital deafness.

- Ira, probably all mothers feel an invisible but strong connection with each other, and when there is trouble with the son or daughter of a native, and sometimes a stranger, they perceive someone else’s pain as their own. You are the mother of two boys, and having heard Fedi Churilov’s story, you sincerely sympathize with the mother of our little hero…

- I can imagine how hard Lena is, Fedi’s mother. I sincerely sympathize and wish good luck in the fight against this disease. And what are extreme situations, and shock, I know, alas.
My youngest son has an allergy that manifests itself in asthmatic symptoms. The slightest cold or sweets that can treat him provoke bronchospasm. The child begins to cough, he catches his breath, and this can end in resuscitation. Fortunately, he is now five years old, it is becoming easier to deal with the problem, but I am the mom who does not leave the house without an inhaler.

- When Fedi’s mother first realized that her baby could not hear, she experienced tremendous stress, which is difficult to cope with even a strong woman, where to go, what to look for support?

- When diagnosed - it’s a terrible fear, a sense of hopelessness. And then you learn to live with it. And every real mother believes that she can save her child and that the child will be the happiest. And this hope helps to cope with the most difficult situations. The support of close people is very important, and we also need people who are ready to help, we need qualified doctors, and then everything will definitely work out.

- Have you ever had to communicate with children or people who cannot hear?

- My friends and daughter had a problem: she was born big, but in infancy she got the strongest flu, the disease gave a complication, doctors overlooked, and parents could not understand in time that the child does not respond to sounds. The girl lost 80% of her hearing. Now she is an adult girl and a very, very bright person. She practically does not use a hearing aid, speaks gestures. My friends had to accept this situation and learn to live with it. And what is surprising: my friend, the girl’s mother, said that her daughter taught them to perceive life differently: when you gesture with her friends, you realize that there are far fewer words, but in their world everything is so sincere and honest, and that they do not know how to deceive and deceive. They still have to learn a different perception of the world.

- Along with the sounds of speech, we carry both the bad and the good?

- As a singer, I can say that sound has a great effect on a person and can both heal and destroy. There are studies of scientists: when a person speaks warm, tender words and the flower blooms, when swearing - plants, dry up or stop growing. Man is a very vulnerable creature.

- As a singer, do you use your voice on stage to control the audience, how do you feel?

- For me on the stage it is important to share bright emotions and it is important, thanks to the song, to experience catharsis and let the person be cleansed. We have a lot of pain in our lives now, and art heals.

- And how to talk to a child who cannot hear, how to tell him what you love, teach him to understand the world?

- Love works wonders. It is necessary to speak with eyes, facial expressions, the native person will by all means understand your emotional message. But nothing, of course, can replace my mother’s voice. I sincerely wish Fede had an operation so he could hear Mom, Dad and live like all of us.

- Have you ever had to turn to other people for support and help?

- My father had lymphoma, and our family has been battling cancer for more than five years. I am very grateful to the huge number of people who responded and helped prolong his life. It was financial help, moral support, and prayer. My father Vladimir Fedorovich Shinkaruk was a multifaceted artist, a university professor, and most importantly, a very bright man, he is one of those people who know how to share their talent, knowledge, he was able to inspire and give goodness and love. And the people who met him in his life really wanted to help him. Then there was a queue in the center of the blood to donate blood for my father. And in a few days, the donors donated as much blood as they usually donated in a few months. And they helped not only my father, but also many other people. I believe in charity and that the good you send to the world is bound to,

- But there are people who think differently. Needless to say, many people who read an article about a sick child think that this story is far from them! But scientists have estimated that one in a hundred people is a carrier of a recessive deafness gene. If two such people form a couple, they may have a deaf baby. So the problem, it turns out, can affect many families who do not even know it. But even if a person is absolutely healthy, and everything is ok in his life, is it possible to live with closed eyes and heart?

- I also encounter people who do not want to hear about someone’s problems, they have closed themselves off from the world and become isolated. Maybe it’s their defensive reaction? Are they just afraid of stress, anxiety, illness itself, finally? Personally, I am very touched by personal stories. For many years I have participated in concerts dedicated to the Day of the Disabled, I have met many children and their parents, and I understand that every day of their lives is a feat. And when you see real people, they don’t just want to empathize, they want to help. Therefore, those who hide from other people’s problems, I advise you not to be afraid of them, but to open up - go to the hospital or a charity fund, and do a good deed for at least one person who needs help.
It is also very important to tell how good deeds are done, how someone’s seemingly unrealistic dreams come true. When you see how children’s eyes shine with happiness, it is so touching, so touching. I believe that someone’s, let someone else’s good deed, will definitely provoke you to give someone a piece of happiness.

"Then let’s imagine Fedya’s mother’s eyes glowing with happiness when she hears him start blabbering and responding to her voice!" What would you like to wish Fedi’s parents?
- I would like to wish them love, strength, patience, confidence that everything will work out with God’s help and the help of people. Ivano-Frankivsk is home to our classic, poet-songwriter Stepan Pushyk, as a wish to all of us, I want to quote his poems: and flowers should grow and bloom! ” God bless our children! HELP FEDE
