From birth, the daughter has problems with the spine - congenital kyphoscoliosis. To straighten her back , Julia wore corsets, practiced physical therapy, and went for massages . But the miracle did not happen, but on the contrary the hump progressed. When Yulia was three years old, we went for a consultation to Kyiv orthopedists in Okhmatdyt. The daughters were assigned to wear a corset, because for the operation, Julia was still young.
The child wore a corset for three years, but no improvement occurred. Then we went to Kharkiv for an examination. After the examination, the doctors immediately told them to perform an operation on the spine, to install a titanium structure for Yulia, because the child’s condition was deteriorating. It was getting worse and worse, my legs ached, my daughter could not walk by herself. Then Julia had her first operation - a titanium structure was installed. After that, for four years, we went to the hospital, where specialists "twisted" this structure so that the curvature of the spine did not progress. And to make the treatment more effective, Julia underwent two more operations on her hip, as from birth, her daughter had one leg shorter than the other by 3.5 cm.
After a series of operations, Julia went for improvement. But, in March 2019, the daughter fell ill with measles, which gave a complication in the form of inflammation of the brain - encephalitis. My daughter was in a coma for two months. The total rehabilitation period was over a year. The child could not move, had memory loss. To this day, the consequences of this terrible disease are being felt.
While we were treating one, it was time to replace the temporary titanium structure with a permanent one. But, after undergoing 8 complex operations, phased treatment, exhausting in all forms of rehabilitation, we do not have the means to purchase this design. Yulia Peretyatko was successfully operated on at the University Clinic of the Kharkiv National Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after Professor MI Sitenka.
The girl underwent two major spinal surgeries that almost completely corrected scoliosis. The next day after the implant was placed, she started walking and was discharged home on the 7th day. In a couple of weeks she will be able to return to school. Constant pain and anguish behind. A year later, no one will even see that the girl had surgery. Julia will start a new life, without back pain and with hope for the future.
