According to the data from Katya's preoperative examination, the atrial septal defect in the child's heart tends to decrease in size. Therefore, surgery to correct the congenital heart defect will not be necessary. The occluder for Katya Myroslip, paid for by the Bonum-Ukraine Foundation, will be transferred to the treatment of another child.

Katya was born a healthy and active child. As a child, my daughter often suffered from obstructive bronchitis with an asthmatic component. Katya went to kindergarten, attended a modern dance studio, and graduated from an art school.
When my daughter was ten years old, during a medical examination at school, the child was diagnosed with a heart defect - a secondary atrial septal defect. We were advised to monitor the defect. Every year we underwent examinations, but the defect only progressed and the hole in my daughter’s heart only grew larger. Now Katrusa will only be helped by an operation to close the defect - an occluder. This will help my daughter get rid of the heart defect forever, and in the future the child will live a normal life. Later, we learned about the cost of the operation, or rather the device - an occluder, with which our daughter will undergo a gentle operation. Over a hundred thousand hryvnias, which we will never be able to collect on our own. We are a family raising two children. My husband is a soldier and is currently at the front in the Donetsk region. It so happened that in August of this year, I had surgery, and in early November, my father had surgery. Therefore, we are appealing to caring people for help for our daughter Katrusia. Cardiovascular surgeon of the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv Besh Dmytro: «During the examination, Kateryna Myroslip was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - atrial septal defect. Based on the absolute indicators and the topic of the defect, endovascular closure of the opening with an occluder was recommended. This is a gentle intervention, after which the child will quickly recover and develop normally».
