Maria was born in the city of Kharkiv, at the 26th week of pregnancy, weighing 840 grams. The daughter spent 5 months in intensive care, on a ventilator. This period was very difficult for the little baby and for us parents. My heart was torn to pieces, there were many tears. Despair. The unknown is ahead. When the daughter learned to breathe without a ventilator, she was transferred to the premature unit, where we stayed together for two weeks, until the daughter was able to breathe independently without oxygen support and eat. After being discharged home, after a long 6 months, the family began a difficult path of struggle for a better life for the child - the path of recovery. In the year, Maria was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, bilateral sensorineural deafness. The doctors who observed us said that the child is promising, only a lot of effort must be made. We practiced at home, in rehabilitation institutions in Kharkiv (physical therapy, massage, swimming pool, hippotherapy, classes with a speech therapist-defectologist), took courses of inpatient treatment in the neurological department of city hospitals. Over time, the classes began to bring results — Maria acquired new self-care skills: eating, drinking, dressing, language contact appeared. In 2019, her daughter underwent an operation - cochlear implantation, thanks to which and constant classes with a speech therapist, Mariyka learned to better hear the world around her and to speak. But another test awaited me - at the age of 42, my husband, my support and support, suddenly died of a heart attack. Life stopped altogether at that moment. I came to my senses only after a year. In August 2023, on the recommendation of an orthopedic doctor, Maria underwent achilleplasty of both lower limbs to form the skill of walking with support on the foot. The child was wrapped in plaster for four weeks. Now, when the cast has been removed, the issue of high-quality, intensive, long-term rehabilitation has become acute, so as not to miss the moment - otherwise all the efforts spent will be in vain. Now, Maria is studying in the first grade, she is a very cheerful, communicative, smiling girl. Loves pets, especially dogs and horses, likes to draw and ride a specialized bike with back support. She really wants to learn to walk and enjoy life. I am asking for help in raising funds for enhanced, high-quality rehabilitation of my daughter after surgery, which will bring us closer to the most desirable dream - to walk independently and enjoy childhood like her peers. I will be very grateful for your help! Natalia Levchuk, Kharkiv. Director of the International Rehabilitation Treatment Clinic Nataliya Kozyavkina (Truskavets): «Maria needs to continue treatment and post-operative rehabilitation in order to consolidate the results of the treatment and increase the positive dynamics. Maria Levchuk underwent rehabilitation at the Kozyavkin International Rehabilitation Treatment Clinic. The girl has good results. Maria got physically stronger, became more durable, her muscle tone decreased, her knees straightened out a bit, and her coordination level increased. According to her mother, after another course, Maria became much better able to stand on her feet. It was very difficult for her, but she tried. Once again, Maria returns home, full of strength, with pleasant impressions and excellent results. According to her mother, the girl will continue to practice at home to consolidate such excellent results. Maria’s mother thanks all the people who helped financially for the possibility of her daughter’s rehabilitation! Accept our gratitude, friends! We will definitely monitor the fate of the girl.
