About three years ago, our daughter was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - an open ductus arteriosus. Every year, we performed an ultrasound examination of Mary’s heart, but the duct did not close on its own, but on the contrary increased.
With this disease, the pressure in the aorta is much higher than the pressure in the pulmonary artery. Therefore, an excessive amount of blood enters the lungs through an open ductus arteriosus from the aorta, which initially leads to frequent bronchopulmonary diseases, and in the case of a large duct, to irreversible changes in the vessels of the lungs and inoperability. Therefore, doctors now recommend that Maria perform an emergency operation: endovascular closure of the duct with an occluder-spiral, after which her daughter will recover completely and be able to fully live and develop.
Unfortunately, our family is unable to pay the high cost of the necessary occluder implant on its own. Therefore, we appeal to caring people with a big heart for financial help so that our Marichka recovers and is able to fully develop and be a happy child. Nadia Zborivska, Lviv.

Maria Zborivska was successfully operated on at the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv. During endovascular surgery, the open ductus arteriosus is closed through the vessels with the help of an occluder-spiral. The operation is gentle and minimally traumatic. According to cardiac surgeon Dmytro Besh, the operation went without complications. Heart rate is normal, blood circulation has been restored. The girl feels well and was discharged home the next day after the operation.
