Our family is large, raising a child with a disability. Since Maxim’s birth, our family has been fighting for his life and health.
The pregnancy went without complications: all ultrasound schedules, tests, and necessary screenings were followed, but during the cesarean section, due to pulmonary insufficiency, Maxim was born with severe hypoxic-ischemic damage to the central nervous system.
Instead of warm hugs, sweet dreams, and his mother’s gentle lullaby, three weeks in intensive care, mechanical ventilation, coma, tube feeding… and a lot of questions for the doctors, and no answers that would give even a little hope.
From the age of three months, the child undergoes rehabilitation in various medical institutions, during breaks, massage courses at home, expensive examinations and tests, monthly monitoring, specialist consultations, purchase of various rehabilitation and technical equipment, health support with anticonvulsant drugs. When Maxim turned 1 year old, instead of balloons and candles on a birthday cake, the doctors gave him a terrible diagnosis - cerebral palsy.
Since our hometown cannot provide any physical, psychological or medical assistance for children with special needs, we are forced to undergo examinations and undergo rehabilitation on a permanent basis in other cities. In two years, our family has exhausted all family savings and is forced to turn to your Foundation for help in undergoing rehabilitation. We have already completed 10 courses of rehabilitation and hard labor. But Maxim's smile, his view of us parents, of the world around us, does not allow us to give up, to give up. Ahead is a difficult and expensive path to recovery, full of hope and faith... at least in small victories! That's why we do not stop, because each rehabilitation course is a step towards a happy childhood, it is a chance for Maxim to experience a life filled with laughter, joy and support!
