Unsuccessful and negligent actions of the staff of the maternity hospital led to the appearance of Oleg - cephalohematomas on the forehead. Due to the infection in his blood, Oleg had to be given an antibiotic in the first hours of his life.
After being discharged from the maternity hospital, his son spent the first three weeks of his life in the Kharkiv Perinatal Center, recovering from a birth injury. At 4 months, a severe food allergy appeared, accompanied by severe and profuse rashes on the body. For this reason, Oleg is still observed and registered at the Kharkiv Genetic Center, which was found to be the cause of severe food allergies - gluten and lactose intolerance.
Prolonged treatment, the strictest diet, lack of vitamins, constant colds had a negative impact on the child’s body, which forced us to seek medical help.
At the end of 2016, during an ultrasound of the heart in Kharkiv’s Okhmatdyt, our son was diagnosed with a heart defect and diagnosed with congenital heart disease, atrial septal defect. Specialists of OKHMATDIT decided to watch for heart disease, as there was hope for his recovery. Therefore, for two years, we observed the condition of the defect: we supported and tried to strengthen the body with drugs prescribed by a doctor, did an ultrasound every six months and monitored the condition of Oleg’s body. But, in the last year, the child became more often ill and very tired during classes in kindergarten.
At the end of 2018, another ultrasound of the heart was performed, which showed a worsening of heart disease. In this regard, the doctors of OKHMATDIT sent our son to the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery named after V.T. Zaitsev of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Kharkiv), where he underwent a full examination and was sent with the results to the head of the department of interventional cardiology, to establish the diagnosis and our further actions. After reviewing the results, the cardiologist prescribed endovascular surgery, closure of the atrial septal defect with an implant - occluder. The cost of the occluder today is over 100 thousand hryvnias. Unfortunately, our family does not have such funds. This circumstance made our family turn to you, good people, for help. Oleg Maistrenko successfully operated at the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery. V.T. Zaitseva (Kharkiv). Specialists of the Institute eliminated heart defects by closing the atrial septal defect with an occluder, due to a small puncture in the femoral vein. The work of the heart and circulatory system is restored. Oleg is feeling well. A few days after the operation, the boy was discharged home.
