My only son Alexander is 11 years old this year. Sasha was born prematurely - at 28 weeks of pregnancy weighing 960 grams. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia, severe form, Sasha was given one year. To us, it sounded like "thunder in the clear sky." Since then, began tireless, systematic classes with specialists at home: massage, exercise therapy, water treatments. Unfortunately, until the age of three, my son did not receive any necessary and important at that time state treatment in specialized institutions. When the child was three years old, Sasha’s father died tragically. At one time we were left without a father and without a husband. Only, after I received the status of "single mother" (widow), we began to receive free spa and medical vouchers for the rehabilitation of my boy: visited the children’s clinical specialized sanatorium "Khadzhibey" in the Odessa region, the sanatorium "Orlenok" in the Kiev region, the Center for Social Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities "Ray" Vinnytsia, International Children’s Medical Center "Skifos" Skadovsk. In addition, we regularly visit the Rehabilitation Center at the place of residence in Kiev, where I, having an education as an artist, volunteer to engage in art therapy with children who visit this Center.
Sasha is a very talented, active and sociable boy. She likes to study, play, draw, sing, has a good memory and a great sense of humor. For the third year in a row, the son of the house is working with a teacher from the school "Hope". Today, Sasha does not crawl on his own, does not sit, does not stand and does not walk. Doctors - orthopedists and neurologists, who guide the son from birth, strongly advise to take a course of intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation at the International Clinic of Rehabilitation Kozyavkin in Truskavets. But the amount of more than 11 thousand hryvnias for one course is not possible for me at all, because I am raising a son alone without my husband. Sasha tried: he became more active and attentive, the spasticity of his arms and legs decreased, his muscles became stronger.
