At birth, doctors did not find any abnormalities in her daughter, but after discharge Sonya gained weight poorly, was weak. At six months, during a routine check-up, the pediatrician heard my daughter’s heartbeat and sent us to the regional hospital for an examination. Here, Sonya was diagnosed with a complex heart defect - atrial septal defect and open ductus arteriosus. The doctors decided to postpone the operation until Sofia gets stronger, grows up, during which time both defects may close on their own, and surgery will not be required. This is what happened to the atrial septal defect. But the hole in the ductus arteriosus not only remained open, but also increased in size. Doctors say it is necessary to operate as soon as possible - to close the hole with a special "patch" - an occluder. The operation itself will be done on a quota basis, but you have to pay for the occluder. And it is very expensive, we do not have such money, my husband’s salary is enough only for the most necessary. I ask for your help!
