Tarashchansky Boarding School and Rehabilitation Center
Since 1961, orphans, children from large and low-income families, and children living in the neighborhood where the boarding school was located have been studying at the Tarashchansky boarding school. In September 1980, after the reorganization, Tarashchanka boarding school received the status of an auxiliary school. More than 460 orphans and children deprived of parental care, children with psychophysical developmental problems, found their second home here. In 2009, the school was reorganized into a municipal institution of the Kyiv Regional Council, the Tarashchansky Educational and Rehabilitation Center, an educational and correctional institution for children with special educational needs due to complex developmental disorders (intellectual disabilities combined with early childhood autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome). Children with severe intellectual disabilities can be enrolled in the PTN groups. The main task of the institution is to create the necessary conditions for pupils to acquire the system of general education knowledge necessary for social adaptation and pre-vocational training of children with SEN. All the necessary conditions have been created for this. The institution has 5 workshops: locksmith, carpentry, painting, sewing, and a greenhouse.
