There are trips that inspire us to continue doing our job.
The Ufond recently returned from a trip to the Rozbyshivsk Educational and Rehabilitation Center for Boarding Schools. A children's institution on the border of Sumy region, a place of incredible beauty, the silence of nature, green trees and endless sky... But instead of a carefree childhood, sirens sound here almost every day and every night, shaheeds and rockets fly by, and children are forced to spend hours in shelters. More than 100 children live in this institution. Most of them have intellectual disabilities and complex complex diagnoses. Some of the children are orphans, some are children who have lost their homes for the second time due to the war and have become IDPs. And despite all this, they continue to smile, hug, rejoice in simple things and wait for guests. This time, thanks to the support of our partners and friends, we were able to bring a lot of necessary things for the children: juices, fruit smoothies and purees, cream, summer sports uniforms and bright backpacks, coolers for drinking water, a dryer for fruits and vegetables and even a sewing machine. For some, these are just things, but for children, it is a feeling that they are remembered, that they are not left alone with their difficulties. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who joins our trips, supports the collection, helps with resources, time or a kind word. It is thanks to you that we have the opportunity to constantly support this institution and be close to those who need it most. Every help is not only about things. It is about care, humanity and the chance to give children at least a little warmth and a sense of childhood that the war is trying to take away from them.
