After the examination, Valentina was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect - multiple defects of the interventricular septum. As a result, the child was prescribed the first operation - narrowing of the pulmonary artery. After the operation, the defects had to close on their own. Every six months we came to Kiev for an inspection, hoping that the defects were closed. But, alas, 6 years later - it did not happen. Now it is necessary to remove the band from the pulmonary artery. If you remove the tape from the pulmonary artery and do not close the defects - our son will not survive! In October 2018, we again came to the Amosov Institute, where during the examination, Cardiac surgeons decided to perform a gentle, endovascular operation - closing the defects with an occluder and a spiral occluder. The cost of the necessary implants is more than 200 thousand hryvnias. For our family, where only the child’s father works, with his welder’s salary, this is an unaffordable amount! Earlier, the boy underwent surgery - narrowing of the pulmonary artery in 2012. Due to the existing defects of the septum in the child pathologically increased right heart and increased pressure in the small circle of blood circulation. Surgeons in the department of endovascular methods for the treatment of congenital and acquired heart defects, through skin intervention, managed to close two defects by installing occluders in them. The next step was to remove the bandage from the pulmonary artery. The treatment in the future will allow the heart to return to a normal physiological state, and the child to grow and develop normally.
