Our youngest son Zakharko is a smart, energetic, cheerful and very active boy. A son was born in due time, the birth went well. The whole family, and especially the older brother Yaroslav, were very happy with his birth. But a month later, Zakharko and I were taken to the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital in Bila Tserkva, where a child was diagnosed with a secondary atrial septal defect during a questioning examination. For further examination we were sent to Kyiv, to Okhmatdyt, where the diagnosis was confirmed. Doctors explained that at such an early age the defect can still close on its own. But, unfortunately, this did not happen. Doctors of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine later observed Zakharchyk. In order for a child to be able to undergo surgery, he must weigh more than 16 kg. And now the weight has been gained, Zakharko has grown up and you can already put the occluder. But our family does not have the funds for an expensive operation, so we turn to caring people for help.
