We hoped that everything would "close" itself, and no operation would be required. Our hopes did not come true. In 2014, we underwent another examination, did an ultrasound of my daughter’s heart and found that the open arterial duct did not close and increased to a large size. On the recommendation of doctors, Zlata underwent endovascular surgery. Everything went well, after the operation, the daughter quickly recovered and went to kindergarten. Cardiac surgeons ordered constant monitoring and banned Zlata from any exercise for the next three years. Everything went well, Zlata grew and developed like all children.
In the spring of this year, during a medical examination in front of the school, my daughter had an ultrasound of her heart and found that the hole in her heart had not completely closed. Specialists reassured us, saying that this happens with large holes, and a second operation - resuscitation of the duct, will completely eliminate heart disease. The operation will be performed endovascularly using a spiral occluder. It will be made according to the state quota, but the occluder is not paid from the budget. We need to buy it ourselves. Zlata Yavorskaya successfully underwent surgery at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after NM Amosova (Kyiv). The open arterial duct is successfully closed by means of a special "patch" - the occluder-spiral. The operation lasted less than an hour, the heart and circulatory system were restored. Nothing threatens the girl’s health. She feels good. On the second day after the operation, Zlata was discharged home.
