I am Markiyan's mother, and I am asking for your help again. Thanks to the help of the benefactors of the Ufund, Markiyan has already undergone a rehabilitation course in 2022. For which we are infinitely grateful to everyone who helped our son. But this year we again ask for your help and support in undergoing the necessary rehabilitation course at the Kozyavkin International Clinic.
Markiyan is already 12 years old. He is a very desired child, our joy, who helped our family survive the terrible pain of losing our first son in 2011.
Markiyan was born a healthy child. When he was 9 months old, he suddenly fell ill with an enterovirus infection. Which gives complications once in 50 thousand. The boy lost all his skills, as if he had become a newborn again. Doctors from Lviv, Kyiv and Kharkiv could not make a diagnosis for a long time. A few months later, it turned out that Markiyan had a rare disease - glutaric aciduria, mitochondrial encephalopathy, spastic tetraparesis. In order for Markiyan to live and develop, he needs to take expensive medications every day and undergo constant and systemic rehabilitation.
Markiyan has already completed 18 courses and they give good results: his son began
to sit, crawl, stand at a support, spasticity almost disappeared, learned to count, read and understand everything.
In 2024, at the St. Nicholas Hospital (Lviv), his son underwent tendonoplasty and muscle grafting. Thanks to this operation and rehabilitation, the child takes steps with the help of a walker and with support. But, unfortunately, he still does not walk on his own... And he always asks when he will be able to play football with the children on his own? These are the most painful words to which we cannot give an answer to a child.
